Kota Stone is technically a limestone, quarried locally around our own units — which is exactly why we know it better than most. Photo coverage below is being completed; placeholders mark the varieties awaiting fresh photography.

About the Stone

Kota Stone is a fine-grained limestone quarried around the Kota district of Rajasthan — the same region our own units are based in, which gives us an unusually direct line to the quarries most suppliers only buy from secondhand. It's been the default flooring material across Indian homes, offices and public buildings for generations, for reasons that hold up today: it's genuinely cost-effective, hard-wearing, and doesn't need chemical sealers to perform well.

The stone resists staining and heavy foot traffic without much maintenance, and it's quarried without the chemical treatments some other stones require — a real eco-friendly plus if that matters for your project. Beyond flooring, Kota Stone shows up in parking areas, industrial floors, and increasingly in landscaping, where its Riverwash and Lapatro finishes give it a softer, more contemporary character than the raw natural surface.

Because we're quarrying and finishing this stone essentially on our own doorstep, lead times and consistency are easier for us to guarantee here than on stones sourced further afield.
