We produce fountains two ways. Carved pieces are worked from solid block, hand-finished or CNC-cut depending on the design — classical tiered fountains, contemporary monoliths, wall-mounted spouts and basins. Boulder fountains take a natural rock, drill it through, and plumb it: the least designed and often the most effective water feature you can put in a garden, because it looks like water simply found its way through stone.
Because every fountain is bespoke, the process starts with you. Send a drawing, a photograph, or a rough sketch — you do not need CAD files. We will come back with a proposal covering the stone, the dimensions, the plumbing requirement and the lead time. Our CNC capability means intricate carving costs considerably less than it would by hand.

A few honest notes that will save you real trouble later.
The base carries more than the fountain. A stone fountain full of water is dramatically heavier than a stone fountain empty. Build the base for the wet weight, not the delivered weight, and get it level — a fountain 5mm out of level shows immediately in the water line, and there is no adjusting it afterwards.
Plan the plumbing and power before the stone arrives. The bore comes pre-drilled to your specification, but the reservoir, pump and power feed are site work. Doing it after the fountain is set means digging around a piece of stone you cannot move.
Boulder fountains want a hidden reservoir. The effect only works if the water appears to come from nowhere and disappear to nowhere. A visible tank kills it. Budget for the excavation.
Winter matters in freezing climates. Water expanding in a carved basin is how fountains crack. Drain it, or keep it running — moving water does not freeze as readily. A stopped, full fountain through a hard frost is the one genuine risk to the stone.

Care & Maintenance
Keep the water clean and the pump clear — leaves in the reservoir are what kills pumps, not wear. A basket or a mesh over the tank solves most of it.
Never use acidic cleaners on a fountain, and be cautious with algae treatments: many are acidic and will etch limestone or marble permanently. In freezing climates, drain the basin or keep the water moving. Water expanding in a carved bowl is the only real way to damage the stone.

Less than you would think, because of CNC. Computer-controlled carving minimises waste and does not charge by the hour the way hand carving does — so intricacy carries much less of a price penalty. Complex is not automatically expensive.
